University of Guelph Applied Credit

The College of Business & Economics at the University of Guelph (U of G) provides all U of G students with the opportunity to further their understanding of business concepts and gain up to 1.0 academic credits through applied, faculty-supervised learning experiences.

Students interested in pursuing any of the following should contact the appropriate faculty member.

Entrepreneurship I and II

  1. The College of Business & Economics, in collaboration with the Business Centre Guelph-Wellington (BCGW), is pleased to provide up to 20 students interested in developing and running a new business with the opportunity to participate in a series of modules, run by the BCGW at their downtown location, leading to the development of a business plan. During the winter, students will have access to advisors and resources of the BCGW and the opportunity to work alongside others from the local community interested in starting their own businesses, while being supervised by a University of Guelph Faculty member.

  2. Students successfully completing Entrepreneurship I are eligible to apply for Entrepreneurship II. Students in this course launch their business in the spring semester, with the support of a BCGW advisor and a University of Guelph faculty member. Students wishing to start their business in the Guelph Wellington area may be eligible to compete for awards of up to $3,000 to participate in the Summer Company program, provided through the Province of Ontario.
