Food and Health Product Information Session for New Businesses

An in-depth look at what you need to do in order to open or run a home-based Food production or Health products business.

Event Info

Due to Covid-19 we have seen an influx of home-based businesses focused on food and/or health and beauty products. With new government regulations and allowances this has created difficulties to navigate what is actually needed to run your business safely and legally, in order to ensure your business is successful.

This workshop will allow business owners to learn first hand from the City of Guelph licensing department, and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health department about the requirements for running a safe and legal home-based food and/or health products business.

Learn what you need to navigate a home inspection for food production and whether an inspection is necessary. You will be able to gain an understanding of what products are legally allowed to be manufactured and sold from your home, and how to ensure the health and safety of all those involved. Leave this workshop with a greater understand of the legality and regulations surrounding the licensing of your homebased business and how to go about registering with the appropriate government departments. Gain a better understanding of what you need to consider when building a business from the comfort of your kitchen, whether it's food, soap, esthetic products or more.
