Geology Engineer with a MSc in environmental management, Abel worked more than twelve years as a sustainability practitioner in various countries; as a consultant in responsible investing, a corporate sustainability manager in mining and in social innovation, implementing award winning strategies, leveraging impacts and benefits for all stakeholders.

After moving to a rural property in Wellington County, and learning more about its amazing potential, Abel decided to recentre his career on making an impact at the local level by founding Esper’Ance in Action, a start-up not-for-profit social enterprise enabling sustainability and climate action for everyone.

Esper’Ance In Action aims to become a one-stop shop / hub for sustainability for both individuals and institutions. The goal is to reduce barriers to address the climate crisis by creating a nurturing environment to learn how implementing sustainable solutions is beneficial, by creating resilience, saving cost, improve well-being, progressively creating a systemic change.

From education and experiences on sustainability, to supporting individuals and institutions through tailored approaches and by progressively building a network of sustainable alternatives from local partners, Esper’Ance will support most to kickstart their sustainability journey.
